63 hours till sunshine and warmth

Sorry I have been slacking in the outfit post department. It's been snowing for over a week and I simply cannot get motivated to take photos. It's one thing to take pics in the snow in February, it's another thing in late April. But do not worry, they will return this Thursday. I plan on taking outfit pics during my vacation. I am so beyond excited about warm weather, sun, and sandy beaches. I was going to do a mini 30 for 30 Challenge, 11 for 11, but I have one item too many and I cannot part with it. So, this will be a 12 for 11 Challenge (not sure what 30 for 30 is, check it out here). I will post my items tomorrow. Much thought has gone into this (way too much, I am a nerd after all). Photo above is sneak peek into a few of my items that will be traveling with me.

This will be the first time in my life that I have packed so little. We have decided to bring one suitcase for the 3 of us, because of the ridiculous baggage fees, and you would be surprised how much stuff a 1 year old needs. Oh, and keep your eye out for some seriously cute Dexter outfit posts.

What can't you travel without?

Studious

Blazer: Local Boutique, Retail Therapy // Tank: Target // Jeans: Gap // Boots: Hunters // Necklace: DIY

Ugh, it's snowing. As I type this, the snow falls from the sky. Why, oh why is it still snowing? Forecast is snow for the next 5 days. The only thing keeping me sane is the fact that I leave a week today for the lovely beaches of Mexico. Enough about the depressing weather, lets talk about the clothes. I have owned this blazer forever and haven't worn it in just as long. It reminds me of a blazer a professor would wear, so I had to add the glasses to give it that smart look. This is my studious outfit. Did it work? Do I look smarter?

Last night of the giveaway! Look for winner in the morning. Good luck to all!

I forgot a title

Top: H&M (hand me down) // Skirt: Thrifted // Boots: Target // Belt: Thrifted // Necklace: DIY // Sunglasses: Forever 21

Good evening to you all. This has been a hard post to write today. I have no brain for some reason. So I am going to keep it light and sweet. I felt like a little kid playing dress-up in this skirt. I am not a pink person, but of late I can't get enough of it. I couldn't pass this skirt up when I came across it, not the nicest made but it was super cheap and so much fun to wear (and very see through, had to pull out the trusty old slip I haven't worn in years). I am also loving the milkmaid braids, I swear I have been wearing my hair other ways (just no photos on those days). Ok, I think thats all I am going to say about my clothes. I am very uninspired in my words today. I promise to be better tomorrow.

Don't forget, tomorrow is the last day to sign up for the
giveaway. If you already follow my blog on Google

Busy Sunday's and Giveaway Clarifications

Blazer: Anthropologie // Top: Modcloth // Jeans: American Eagle // Shoes: Urban Outfitters // Earrings: DIY // Ring: Forever 21

What a day. I have had an amazing Sunday. It started off with hanging out with Dex and Kelly, then meeting my friend Lacey for lunch/bloodies that turned into chick flicks/mimosas that turned into late day cocktails/just hanging out with the girls. I have not had a girls day in...well to be honest it's been way to long to remember. It was needed and couldn't come a moment sooner. Thank you girls, love you all!

Need to clarify on the giveaway, if you are already a follower, go ahead and leave a comment. Don't need to do any of the other things. But if you do already do any  of the other things, leave another comment. This giveaway is for you, my amazing followers. You are awesome!

So many countdowns

Jacket: Nordstrom, $49 // Shirt: Forever 21: $7 // Skirt: Gift // Shoes: Jeffery Campbell, $69 // Necklace: Forever 21: $7
Ring: Forever 21, $5 // Sunnies: Forever 21, $3

I am so happy to be back with an outfit post. I meant to do one yesterday to follow the giveaway post, but I never got out of my pajamas. I have the week off from work, a little down time is good for the soul. I did feel good getting dressed today, though. I have had these shoes forever, but living somewhere where ice covers the sidewalks and roads for at least 5 months out of the year I didn't have the guts to try them out. I also wish that this skirt was a pleated black chiffon skirt that I have been seeing everywhere, but this black bamboo skirt with have to do (it's soo cozy).

A couple of awesome things are coming up that I cannot wait for. In two weeks today, I will be laying on the beach in Mexico (this little fact is the only thing getting me through this never ending winter). Also, 3 weeks today is my 30th birthday! I still can't believe I am turning 30. It's a little crazy. I plan on doing a little remix challenge for the packing, one suitcase for 3 of us (space is limited). I have got it down to 12 pieces including bathing suit and shoes for 10 days. I am really impressed with myself.

Also, don't forget about my giveaway. 6 days left to enter!! Up to 4 chances to enter and win!
p.s. Thanks to Emily over at The Other Emily for the awesome hair tutorial. Totally had to try it out today. I added a couple more braids to my version of the milkmaid.

Giveaway Time! Yay!

I am just so thrilled to be back and with a beautiful new blog design. To celebrate, I am posting my first ever giveaway. I know I stated in an earlier post I would be giving away to pairs of earrings, but after giving it much thought I just wasn't happy with the earrings I had picked to giveaway. They were not my best work. So, I decided to create a brand new design for you. Because I love you guys. I am in love with these earrings. They are made with sterling silver and recycled leather. They measure 3 inches from top of ear hook to bottom of leather. The leather is soft and light. After I finish this post, I am going to go make myself a pair.

Yummy: Homemade Peanut Butter Cups

No outfit pics today. My photography is on a back-country ski trip and won't be home till Monday and my tripod is M.I.A.. I even put on a cute outfit today. Oh well. So, instead I wanted to share with you what I made today. This is by far the easiest recipe in the world. I just used what I had in my pantry: semisweet chocolate chips and all natural peanut butter. I ate one and it was all I could handle, super rich. Still full from it. I am all about easy when it comes to the kitchen. Don't get me wrong, I do enjoy more complex dishes. But when you have a one year old, time is a major issue when cooking. Dexter was getting very annoyed with me when I was trying to make these and cook dinner and feed him his dinner.

What is your favorite easy yummy recipe? Please share!

Also a huge thanks to Brittany over at No Two Fish are Alike. I won her giveaway and I can't wait to get it in the mail. Go check out her blog, she is an amazing art student and she shares her work and sometimes when we are lucky her outfits.

Speaking of giveaways, I know I mentioned mine months ago and then life got in the way. Well, I am ready for my first giveaway. I will be giving away two pairs of earrings. I also make jewelry on the side. I have two really pretty but simple pairs to give away. I have decided there will be two winners, too. More to come on this in the next day or so.

Hope everyone is having a magical and wonderful weekend!

Why, hello there.

Tank: American Apparel, $18 // Cardigan: Target, $16 // Skirt: Old Navy (Thrifted), $4 // Scarf: Forever 21, $8
Belt: Forever 21, $5 //  Boots: Target, $49 // Socks: Target, $4

I am so sorry that I haven't posted anything in over a week. I am just so disorganized right now. Can someone please come help me organize my life right now. I'll pay you. I'm motivated again though, so that will help at least with the blog. I have a bunch of free time for the next week, too. It's spring break at my preschool and Kelly is out of town till Monday. It's just Dexter and me. I'm thinking trip to The Trailhead (our children's museum) and to Gunnison for a snow free after at the park. All our parks are under 5 feet of snow still. Everyone is getting cabin fever. The weather is finally warming up, but not much to do till the snow melts. Not to far away yet, maybe less than a month (fingers crossed).

This outfit insist entirely of neutrals, except my ring (which is awesome, but didn't get a close up shot...tomorrow). I love putting browns and black together. They compliment each other so well. I am also rocking the white bare legs. I can't believe I am saying this, but I am over tights. I am over all things related to cold weather. Blah.

Have you guys put away all your winter clothes yet?

x

i love you, spring

Tee: Target, $6 // Skirt: Thirfted, $8 // Tights: Old Navy, $4 // Shoes: UO, $49 // Belt: J Crew, $14 // Earrings: Forever 21, $5
Coat: Custom made in Shanghai, Gift

I have been waiting for today all week. Not because it's Friday and it's the end of the week, but the weather forcast was for 52 today. Finally, spring has arrived. Though, it will probably snow a few more times but I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. Also, the mountain is closing this weekend. Last day on Sunday. A fun weekend ahead. Throwing a baby shower for one of my best friends, too. This is going to be a quick post, want to take my son for a walk up to the base area and enjoy the heat.

This outfit is an ode to spring. The pink and red color combo has to be a new favorite. This skirt was hiding in my closet and I had forgotten how great it was. This has to be one of my favorite thrift store finds. I am horrible at finding great vintage pieces, mostly because of the lack of thrift stores in the mountains. I have to admit, I had so much fun getting dressed this morning. This is why I created this blog. Dressing can be fun!

Do you have any fun plans for the weekend?
