Last night was the first Alpenglow of the summer. Oh man, it was a good one. Alpenglow are these amazing free concerts in town park and the whole town was there. It's actually located right behind my preschool, so as soon as I was off I headed over where my parents had set up a spot, made some yummy food, and had a beer waiting for me. Not a bad way to start the week or end a very crazy Monday.

Farmers Market

Dress: small boutique in Sydney, Australia // Shoes: Sam Edelman // Hat: Urban Outfitters // Belt: J Crew
Necklaces: Forever 21

Happy Monday! I hope you all had a great weekend. Mine was fantastic. Met up with a couple of friends yesterday, Julie of J. Bird, Malia, and her son, Jessie. We went to the farmers market, enjoyed lunch outside, then headed back to Julie's where we drank hard cider we bought at the farmers market. I am so jealous of those of you who have farmer markets year round let alone daily. Our season is so short here. It starts mid-June and ends sometime in October. I had such a great time with the girls. It's so nice to have a friend for Dex, too. Ok, I must get ready for work and get day 6's outfit on.

Saturdays

Jewelry: Forever 21

I did it! Two posts in one day. Giving myself a pat on the back, yay me! Today, I got to hang out with my sister and her family. We rode our bikes down to the little lake, hung out for awhile and snapped a few outfit pics. Later, after the boys' naps, we had a water balloon fight, took the kids to the park and went to get ice cream. It was a perfect summer Saturday. Have I mentioned how much I love summer? I am now exhausted. Good night to you all!

Happy weekend, everyone! Sorry I didn't get this up yesterday. Babysat till super late and had no access to the internet. Maybe I'll get a second post up with day 3's outfit, you lucky duck. Oh, that reminds me that Dexter loves the word duck right now and all that rhymes with it (yes, that includes the f-word). When planning outfits for the challenge I actually did not plan this one. It just kind of came together yesterday and I have to say, I love it. I knew I wanted to wear my new hat, but that was it. I am not off to a strong start, but maybe I am saving all the best for later. Go out with a bang! I have recently acquired 4 new hats and am very happy to be wearing them this summer. Ok, I am off to enjoy the summer sun. I hope everyone's weather is as beautiful as mine!

Not off to the most exciting start for 30 for 30, but hey, you have to start somewhere. I really didn't know how to dress today. I was going to be hanging with Dexter, my nephew (almost 2) and my niece (7) and we were suppose to go hiking. We ended up just driving out in the back country to find snow for the kids. We did find snow and about a kazillion mosquitoes. Snapped these pics between getting eaten alive.

the items, kind of

It's Thursday and I am finally posting my items for the 30 for 30 Challenge. I thought last week was busy, but this week gives busy a whole new meaning. I am so happy to finally have my items together and share them with you. This in itself was a ridiculous challenge for me. So here they are, my 30 28 items. I'm missing 2 items. I have some amazing fabric that I am planning on making a skirt out of and will probably want to wear that skirt as soon as it's made. I also have a wedding to go to in a couple weeks and cannot commit to my dress yet. Those are the 2 missing items.

Is anyone else doing this round of the challenge?

I am very excited that my friend, Julie, is participating this time. She is the cutest!! Check her out here.

Hello friends. This will be my only post this week guys. I feel like such a slacker. It has been so crazy busy with work and projects and tomorrow I am heading to Denver for a little trip to see my sis and her kids, friends, and go to the zoo. I have been wanting to take Dex for a couple of months now. It's going to be fun few days. But when I get back, I will have some great outfit posts, a giveaway post (it's about time!), and though I am a little late to join in, I plan on doing the 30 for 30 challenge (for more info, go here). I started this here little blog for the challenge back in February. It was a great experience and I learned a lot about shopping my closet and really getting creative with dressing. I'm pretty excited to do it again and especially now that it's summer. So, tune back in on Monday! I will miss you all dearly.

thriftaholic

Everything I am wearing: Thrifted : )

It's official, I am a thriftaholic. I can't get enough of it and see no point in buying new (at least for right now). Here in the summer, the yard sales are plentiful and there are many treasures to be found. My whole outfit is thrifted. I picked up the skirt, vest, and shirt at Stepping Stones yard sale last weekend. The skirt was a pair of old school shorts that I turned into a skirt. I just loved the pattern on them. Now that I think about it, this whole outfit cost me under $20, that including the shoes and sunglasses. Wow, I even impress myself. Ashlee from Casual and Clueless (another local Coloradoan personal style blogger, check out her blog...super cute style) introduced me to I'm a Thriftaholic (check out my badge to left somewhere).

Are you a thriftaholic?

Top: American Apparel // Skirt: Homemade reconstructed men's shirt // Shoes: Urban Outfitters // Belt: Thrifted
Hat: Thrifted // Sunnies: Forever 21 // Jewelrey: from my childhood

I am very happy how this skirt turned out. I picked up a men's chambray shirt for free (yay!) at the my school's yard sale on Sunday and knew from the moment I saw it that it would be my new skirt. I'm not as excited about the grey top with the skirt, though. Anybody have a good outfit suggestion? I tried a white top first, but it just didn't feel special. I have a busy weekend of sewing ahead, hopefully a new dress for me and a fixed up dress for a friend comes out of it. I will also be deciding what I will be making for my next giveaway. 30 followers! You guys are awesome. Stayed tuned for further giveaway news and announcements.
