Happy Saturday to you all! I am so happy that I am getting back into the swing of things, especially my blog. I miss it and all of you. I also am so sorry that I have not got my 2nd giveaway up. I have not forgotten about it. I was thinking of making a skirt for the giveaway. I have just ordered a new sewing machine and it will be here by the end of next week. I am so excited about it. My current machine was my mom's that she bought back in the 80's. Oh to be able to sew knits and a straight line, I am pretty giddy inside. To celebrate my new machine and reaching 30 followers (lets make it 40 followers!!) I will custom make a skirt ( just like the one in the first outfit, not the same fabric though...all out). Keep your eyes out for my second giveaway post!

Last night was the first Alpenglow of the summer. Oh man, it was a good one. Alpenglow are these amazing free concerts in town park and the whole town was there. It's actually located right behind my preschool, so as soon as I was off I headed over where my parents had set up a spot, made some yummy food, and had a beer waiting for me. Not a bad way to start the week or end a very crazy Monday.

I am very happy how this skirt turned out. I picked up a men's chambray shirt for free (yay!) at the my school's yard sale on Sunday and knew from the moment I saw it that it would be my new skirt. I'm not as excited about the grey top with the skirt, though. Anybody have a good outfit suggestion? I tried a white top first, but it just didn't feel special. I have a busy weekend of sewing ahead, hopefully a new dress for me and a fixed up dress for a friend comes out of it. I will also be deciding what I will be making for my next giveaway. 30 followers! You guys are awesome. Stayed tuned for further giveaway news and announcements.

I am realizing that during the summer, I will be lucky to get 3 to 4 outfits each week. I'll be working 3 days a week during the summer at my preschool, but it's no longer a school but more like a day camp. I will not be dressing as nice to work on those days, clothes could become ruined and I will be doing lots of hiking. I'm sure there will be the occasional outfit that I will just have to share though. My days off of work, I'll be making up for those days at work.

Kelly called this outfit frooffy...is that even a word (side note, I did google it and it's in the urban dictionary)? I bought this skirt almost a year ago, when I still had most of the baby weight. I took it in quite a bit this past weekend and am very happy with the end result. I really like the two different blues together with the pops of red. Red, white and blue must be my new favorite color combo. I bought the canvas bag almost 8 years ago and probably haven't used it in 4. I kind of forgot about it. Saw it the other day and feel like I can't use any other bags at the moment. I have too many bags.

My super good friends, Katie and Josh, welcomed Karoline into the world Monday afternoon. I am beyond happy for them (I actually can't keep from crying tears of joy every time I talk to them). Mom and baby are super healthy and doing great. I wish they lived here, why did you guys have to move away? But it's ok, they are a short 4 hour drive away and hopefully I will be there in the next couple of weeks to meet the newest Angel (does she not have the most wonderful last name ever?). I have already set up a prearranged marriage between Dexter and Karoline, they have no say whatsoever. Of course, they will probably end up being more like brother and sister.

I am very excited about this outfit. I bought the shorts for $1.50, needed a lot of fixing, but totally worth it. I also just tailored the chambray shirt to be more fitted. It was the perfect outfit for running errands and hitting up the park with Dex. You don't find me wearing red and blue together very ofter, I find it too patriotic at times. Don't get me wrong, I love my country but there are some color combinations that I just have a hard time doing. The weather is finally turning into Spring. I can finally wear my shorts and skirts. Very happy right now. To tired to think of much else to say. Everyone have an amazing weekend!

I can't believe it's been almost a whole week since my last post. What a week. I came down with an awful cold on Monday. I even took a sick day on Tuesday, which I never do. I finally started feeling better around Thursday, but it didn't matter since it had been snowing all week. Snow. In late May. The weather has been crazy here. I still got dressed all week with some pretty cute outfits if I say so. No photos though. I refused to go outside in the dumping snow and in our little casa there is really nowhere to take a decent photo. Finally, the sun came out today. The beautiful, warm, bright sun graced us with her presence. I don't know how people live in places where it rains most the year. I couldn't do it. We usually have more sunny days than not, but not this year.  I can't wait for summer, I have so many skirts and outfits planned for the warmer days.

I am very excited to share with you my new shoes. I got them off Urban Outfitters on sale for $20. They are a slight knock off of Swedish Hasbeens, which I adore but simply do not have the money for. I was very excited when I found these. I love them. They go with everything! Got to love that. I love the simplicity of this outfit. This is something I struggle with viewing all the other amazing personal style blogs out there. So many people have different styles from me and I try to recreate their outfits and it's just not me. I am really learning my own style and how to stay true to it. I love simple styles that are a little bit funky or have a small twist to them. Don't get me wrong, I still love a more complicated look sometimes, but over all I tend to feel more comfortable in more effortless looks.
