30for30: A case of the Mondays

Cardigan: Gap
Jeans: Meltin Pot
Shoes: Cooperative via Urban Outfitters
Scarf: ModCloth
Sunglasses: Forever 21

Happy Monday to all. What a crazy day Mondays are for me. I work a 10 hour shift with 3 year olds. I am just happy to finally be home, baby is down to bed, and I getting a free moment to sit on my couch and do nothing but play on my computer. Now that I have free time to write a post though, I am being distracted by the TED conference being aired on Hulu. One word, wow! If you haven't checked out TED, please do so. And if you have, which speaker should I not miss?

I have run out of my own ideas for outfits at this point, but have found amazing inspiration over at The Other Emily and No Two Fish. I loved The Other Emily's look found here, that I totally recreated it for today. I want to go shopping with these ladies, or maybe just raid their closets.

30for30: I'm in love

Cardigan: Target
Top: Target
Shoes: Cooperative via Urban Outfitters

Necklace: Etsy
Sunglasses: Forever 21

I am having a love affair with these shoes. It was almost heartbreaking to take them off last night before I went to bed. They complete all my outfits, they were the missing piece in my 30 for 30. I'm also wearing shorts underneath that are not included in my 30, but it's like when you were a kid and wanted to wear a dress or skirt but had to wear shorts so you didn't show your everything to the world. We are down to the last 5 days and I have to admit I am pretty excited about my up-coming outfits. There are some pretty inspiring bloggers out there who have really helped me to learn to remix better. Thanks to all the personal style bloggers in the world!

Not me...I think my little guy might be getting his molars in. Not fun. He isn't very happy today. Very whiny, very unlike him. He had his first 8 teeth by the time he was 6 1/2 months old. We have had a bit of a break since then.

We are getting so close to the end of the 30 for 30 Challenge. Since I have all my outfits planned for the rest of the challenge, I have been having fun planning outfits out of all my other clothes. Oh how I have missed them.

Ok, short post...must get back to watching Lord of the Rings on blu ray and in hi-def. The secret is out, I am a nerd.

I did get dressed yesterday, but life got in the way and no pics. So played dress up for you guys today to get these pics. I finally found a way to wear this top and I have to admit I love this outfit. I have one more outfit planned for this shirt. I actually have all my outfits planned for the next week. It feels good to know that I am almost done and that I have enough outfits.

So, I did add these shoes. Call them item 31. But looking back at all my outfits there are a couple of things I only wore once. Plus, I never should of added the Danskos. I never wear them, I use to wear them when I taught in an elementary school. They aren't my favorite shoes. So, lets just say I am replacing my new oxfords for those. I bought these shoes a week ago and they have just been sitting my room staring at me, pleading me to wear them. I caved.

1 week left of outfits! I have learned so much through this challenge.

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend! It's been dumping here. Hope to get on the mountain for a couple of hours this weekend, but it's hard to do with a baby. I don't mind just hanging with him though.

I am especially uncreative today, forgive me everyone. The only reason I managed to get dressed this morning is because I had the outfit sitting out all ready to go last night. This morning was spent driving from Denver to Crested Butte (an almost 5 hour drive) and this afternoon was spent teaching 3 year olds. I was also up all night with my little monster who decided for reasons unbeknown to me that it was play time at 1:30 till 5 this morning. To say the least, I feel like the walking dead right now. The only thing on my mind is my bed...which hopefully I'll be in once I put that said monster to bed. Hope you have all had a wonderful Thursday! I'll be back tomorrow hopefully with more energy and more creativity. I do, however, love this outfit. What do you think of the new shades...I love the cheapness and cuteness of Forever 21.

I'm sorry I am slacking on getting back to comments. Going to work on that tonight.

30for30: All grown up

Tee: Target
Cardigan: Target
Dress: The Alpineer

Belt: J Crew
Necklace: My Selvaged Life, Etsy Boutique

These are yesterdays photos. We made it to Denver late Tuesday night. Found a car we loved, and bought it. Feel so grown up buying a car with someone. I actually had a bit of free time to stop by the Cherry Creek Mall. It was a very quick trip. Already back in Crested Butte. Very exhausted, so its going to be a quick post. Sorry for the indoor pics, it was already dark once everyone made it back to our friend, Laurie's house. But she has an awesome place. That's Harry in the pics, he is a bit of a photo hog.
A little fact about Dexter: ever since he was born, he has loved posing for photos. It's very hard to get a candid photo of him, because as soon as he sees the camera he stops and smiles.

Necklace: Prayer beads form Taiwan

Last night this challenge got real. I started trying on outfits not in my 30! I was contemplating switching a top for something else. I haven't worn one of my tops yet. It just isn't me. I'm trying to remix it, but I am having a hard time. All the outfits I come up with don't look like me and I am not super comfortable wearing something that is not me. If you guys have any suggestions, its the blue and white checkered shirt from Old Navy found here. I have a lot of outfits planned but they all seem so boring and the same over and over. Next challenge I will have lots of different colors and patterns. I have found new inspiration though and plan on not changing a thing. I am going to conquer this challenge, maybe not always with the up most creativity but at least I am going to finish it. Only 10 more days left...I can see the end!

I am so excited, warm weather here I come. We are headed to Denver tomorrow or even maybe tonight to go check out some cars. It's in the 50 there. I could go sunbathing! Only there till Thursday morning, bummer. Must get back to work.

I want to thank my new followers. Only 13 to go till headband giveaway time!

30for30: What to do with myself?

Cardigan: Target
Shirt: Target
Jeans: Gap
Boots: Target
Headband: DIY
Necklace: Gifted (similar)

Oh my gosh, I have had the whole morning to myself. I can not tell you the last time this has happened. I don't need to be in work till 12:30, but Dexter had daycare today that we had to still pay for. So I took him in around 9 and now I don't know what to do with myself...all this freedom. I think my dog might get a proper walk this morning.

I love this outfit. It's just so comfy and relaxed. I am sure you have all noticed a theme here, comfy. I have an 11 month old baby who is now walking (!), I work in a preschool, and I live in a ski town where it's winter for at least 7 months out of the year. If it's not comfy, I'm not wearing it. But that does not mean I don't want to look cute, and I do often put fashion before function (wearing regular leather boots instead of my snow boots).

Coming soon: My first give away (once I reach 30 followers)!!  I'm going to start knitting a headband very similar to the one in the pics above (but even better!). So if you like what you see, follow and leave some comments : )

30for30: Blown away...literally

Cardigan: Gap
Jeans: Gap
Boots: Target
Belt: J Crew

Hello friends! Hope ever one had a fantastic Saturday. I sure did. Got to hang out all day with one of my best friends who is in town from Denver, Katie. Tomorrow we are going Nordic skiing with Dexter. Fun, fun. Katie, thanks for taking my pics today...they turned out fantastic! This morning, the weather was beautiful. Just as we went out to take pics the wind started blowing and the temp dropped fast. All you ladies out there who are enjoying the first bits of spring, I am jealous! I want to wear something other than boots for a change. Also, I think its about time I shorten these pants. I was kind of hoping they would shrink more.

Has any one else had a hard time not shopping? I cheated, oops. I noticed yesterday that that fox tank I posted earlier this week was down to only 1 left in my size (all sold out now)! I had to buy it. I am so sorry you all. I feel so guilty...ok, maybe not that guilty. It was totally worth it.

30for30: Resumes and lack of motivation

Cardigan: Target
Dress: Local boutique, The Alpineer
Leggings: H&M
Boots: Target
Necklace: Gifted (similar)

Ok, so the challenge is getting hard. I am running out of ideas. I got the idea for this outfit from Emily over at The Other Emily, I had never thought of buttoning up my cardigan like this. She has some amazing remixes and I love her 30 items. If you guys have any outfit ideas, I would love to hear them.

Happy weekend everyone! Mine will be filled with updating my resume and submitting applications for teaching jobs. Wish me luck!

13 outfits remain...

30for30: Pretty in Orange

Cardigan: Gap
Dress: Target
Boots: Target
Cowl Neck Scarf: Target
Tights: Target
Earrings: DIY

This is yesterday's outfit. I have been slacking the last few days. Sorry guys. Been busy. It was my last day of colors for preschool class. It was pink day. I think this is literally the only pink thing I own and it happened to be in my 30 for 30 (lucky). I still think its more a orange color, but everyone else claimed its pink. So it's pink.   It's been snowing for the last few days and last night it stopped for moment. I grabbed my coworker and we ran outside to take these pics. It was a little late to take pics, so the lighting was not so good.

I'll get today's outfit up later this afternoon. To be honest I am still in my jammies. But don't worry, I am going to get dressed today.

Wishful Wednesday: Foxy Lady

Good Wednesday to you all! I am pretty excited right now about a few things I want to share with you. First, I participated in the INDIE conference put on by the lovely Tieka and Elizabeth from the fashion blogs Selective Potential and Delightfully Tacky. Amazing blogs that I totally recommend you checking out. Super fun personal style, would love to raid their closets. The INDIE conference was jammed packed full of amazing information about fashion blogging. I am very excited about the coming months and what I will be doing with the blog and also be offering a give-away or two!

Second, I have decided to dedicate Wednesdays to my wish lists. Mostly because today I have what ever my baby has and have no energy or motivation to get out of my pajamas. I am now one day behind on my 30 for 30. I'll be back tomorrow with a brand new outfit for you...yes, you.

This Wishful Wednesday is dedicated to clothing and accessories inspired by foxes. I love foxes. They are beautiful and brilliant creatures.

(Clockwise from top left: tank, pillow, tea towel, sweater, necklace, art, dress)

I desperately want the fox tank from Modcloth. It's so cute. Think I know my first purchase after the challenge is over. Already have plenty of outfit ideas involving it. How amazing is the fox print. The colors and design are beautiful. What do you guys think?

Well, thats enough for me. I am exhausted and have missed most of the movie Kelly and I are watching. Everyone have sweet dreams!

First half of the challenge has come to an end. 15 days left. 15 more outfits. Is it bad that I am already planning new outfits for after the challenge?

Hope you all had a wonderful Valentine's Day. My love surprised me with an awesome dinner and an amazing pair of nordic skis. Cannot wait to test out those babies tomorrow. Time to get my body back in shape and get some more energy.

30for30: A day for love

Cardigan: Target
Jeans: Gap
Boots: Target
Belt: J Crew (similar)
Hat: Gifted
Necklace: Local Boutique, Milky Way

Happy Valentine's! What a day it has been. Woke up this morning hoping Dexter was all better, but to much dismay he was sicker. Weird red face thing going on. Took him to the doctor then had to drive 30 minutes to Gunnison to go to the hospital so they could take blood. Poor little guy. They had to poke him twice! Still no news yet on what it might be. For an 11 month old, he is a toughie! No big plans for this day except get Ryce takeout and have a quiet evening at home with my two favorite guys, Dexter and Kelly.

Inspiration for this outfit of course was Valentine's Day. You can't see my necklace very well, but it's a heart (I wear it every year on Valentine's). I was going for soft and romantic. Not sure if I achieved it. I don't know how some of you take your pics outside with no sunglasses on. I look like a crazy person squinting when I don't. The sun off the snow is insanely bright though.
